Hi, Everybody! I have gotten a couple of things in my
email about upcoming events that I thought you might want to know about.
First, from Mike Druce at Soldotna High School:
SOLDOTNA HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA DEPARTMENT PRESENTS FRANKENSTEIN 1930 on
November 29, 30 & December 1. Tix $5.
And secondly, from Susie Lee:
To those of you that aren't singing or playing in Messiah-but would
like to be part of it-Heres your opportunity! The date is December 14
(Friday) 7:30 at KCHS.You would need to be there no later than 6:30.
Chris and Phil Morin are not available to handle the House this concert.
If you would be interested in helping-please let me know! It would involve
selling tickets, passing out programs and answering any questions that
may arise (Where's the bathroom?) I would prefer to have adults sell
the tickets--but kids are OK for passing out the programs.
Thanks in advance for you help!

Hi, Everybody! Whenever we can, Kenai Performers tries
to provide DVDs of our performances. If you have performed in a show,
missed a show, or loved a show enough that you'd like a DVD of it, we
have many of our recent shows available.
Please email me to request a copy, or email bobmabrey@hotmail.com
and put the name of the show you're interested in in the subject line.
We have some of the DVDs of Kenai Performers as well as dance and school
shows from the last few years available at the Playhouse.
Please email me with any questions, or directly to Bob.
THANKS!

Hi, Everybody! OH BOY!!! It's time again to gear up for
Kenai Performers' BIG MUSICAL! This year we're doing Rogers and Hammerstien's
classic, The King and I!
Auditions will be held at KCHS auditorium on Wed., Dec. 5 at 6:00,
Friday, Dec. 7 at 6:00, with Callbacks on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1:00!
Plan to come EITHER Wed. OR Friday to audition, then check to see if
you are called back for Saturday at 1:00. Auditions are for all ages!
Each auditioner will read, sing and dance. NOT ALL PARTS require all
three skills! Just go along and have fun, and we'll find where you fit
best.
Reading is "cold read" - meaning you don't need to prepare
a piece. Original auditions will include readings with others of scenes
chosen from the script. If you are not comfortable as a cold reader,
just stand back and listen, and you will be able to hear the scene many
times before you read, so you can feel more comfortable when it's your
turn.
Dancers will teach a short routine to all as a group, and will just
see how you move and how well you learn and remember movement.
Singing auditions will be a little different this year. Singers will
also be taught short pieces as a group, or may prepare 8-10 measures
of a song of their choice to give a sample of style and range. Persons
wishing to audition for a main singing part will sing a song from The
King and I as an audition piece at call-backs.
Here are the significant vocal ranges:
Anna mezzo
King baritone
Lady Thiang soprano, sings high G
Tuptim soprano, sings high A#
Lun Tha tenor, sings high G
Louis boy alto, sings low G
Prince Chulalongkorn boy alto or baritone, sings low G
I look forward to seeing you all at the auditions! We are also looking
for reliable help with sets and costumes!!! If you love to create at
that level, please email me or show up at the auditions! It takes a
VILLAGE to do a SHOW, and the costumes and sets this year promise to
be AMAZING!! Be part of the backstage scene, and make that magic happen
at YOUR fingertips!
SEE YOU AT THE AUDITIONS!

Hi, Everybody! Ready to spread HOLIDAY CHEER, FUN and
PEPPERMINT? Kenai Performers are looking for a few HAPPY ELVES - Men,
Women, Teens, Kids! And one Jolly Santa and his MRS. We'll costume you,
and you and your friends will bring a little bit of winter delight to
the ARTS and CRAFTS FAIR coming up November 23 and 24 At KCHS. We need
elves from 11:00 - 4 each day, and a Santa and Mrs. C. on Saturday only
with adjustable hours between 10 and 5 (you set your times). It's fun,
and you don't have to stay all day! If we get enough elves, each group
can drop by for just a couple of hours if that's what you can spare.
It's fun! I've done it!
Please email me ASAP if you are interested. If I could be sure we were
set before this Sunday, That would really help my Thanksgiving! So if
you would like to attend the ARTS and CRAFTS FAIR this year, try showing
up from the
NORTH POLE! You'll have EVEN MORE FUN!
CALL me! (or email is even better!)

Hi, Everybody! I'm "ALMOST" back from my trip.
I am here in body, but still battling a flu bug that bit me down there!
FORTUNATELY, the Second Sunday Stories are on the THIRD SUNDAY THIS
MONTH because of Veteran's Day! So PLEASE REMEMBER to change your calendars
for SECOND SUNDAY STORIES to NOVEMBER 18 at 1:00 at the Kenai Library.
We have posters around town, and will be putting the next date and
theme up after each show for the next month, so I hope you'll make EVERY
ONE!
If you'd like to join the troupe, contact me, and we'll get together
and work up a story for you to tell! It's REALLY FUN!!! See you on Nov.
18!
Carol
